BACKGROUND

We are family owned and operated with over 26 years experience in the used appliance business. Our dad and mom started their business in 1990 and us boys (there were 4 of us) spent our summers, breaks and weekends working – dad didn’t call it that –

he said it was our vacation fun – we were not impressed.

We worked and learned, repaired and cleaned, delivered and helped with customers – and in between did our homework – there was always so much work to do.

We continued our “vacation fun” while our friends were out enjoying their summers and breaks and weekends. We thought it was never going to end!!! and THEN – suddenly - out of nowhere dad and mom decided to retire. They offered us the business but we all said no way – too much work !!!!! and so after 26 years – the company ended.

We all did well in school so it was up to us to figure out what we wanted to do with our life. We were all so happy- No More Lugging Appliances !! Freedom – we lazed around – we hung out with our friends – we got jobs – that was the life! Except life just wasn’t the same! We actually missed the hard work, the mix-ups, the problems, the integrity of a job well done, the cleaning, the repairing, the deliveries and most of all selling a good quality appliance to our loyal customers who believed in us.

So – May 2017 – not even a year later, us boys minus one – opened Second Chance Appliances – we were back to having “ Vacation Fun” – dad and mom just shook their heads. Now, with their guidance and experience – us boys – are once again working hard and trying to run our business with the same motto our parent’s had :

and our favourite – ALWAYS ANSWER THE PHONE – IT COULD BE A CUSTOMER

These are not easy rules to live up to all the time but we are sure trying our best. And Dad and Mom - well - they help us when those not so easy days show up.
